Care Instructions - Wooden Rolling Pin

CARING FOR YOUR WOODEN ROLLING PIN

For your convenience, your custom wooden rolling pin comes pre-treated with food grade mineral oil so they are ready to use as soon as you receive them.  However, please be sure to gently wash your pin before using it for the first time especially if baking.

Whether you are an art collector, baker or ceramic artist, your rolling pin can become a beautiful heirloom piece of art to be passed down from generation to generation.  Wooden rolling pins can virtually last a lifetime with minimal care.

If your rolling pin needs cleaning, it’s best to gently wash in warm water.  Avoid scraping the wood.  Rub with hand or non-metal utensil to clean in the crevices.  Don’t use soap and never let your rolling pin or cutting board sit in water for any amount of time.  Soaking in water can cause the wood to swell, warp and possibly crack once it dries.   Never put your wooden rolling pin in the dishwasher.

It is recommended to treat your rolling pin every 3 to 6 months (depending on usage) with approximately a half of teaspoon of food grade mineral oil.  Apply the oil and wipe off with a soft, clean cloth.  Do more often if the wood appears to be drying out.

Our rolling pins are crafted from yellow Maplewood harvested and hand turned in the USA.  They are solidly constructed with a steel rod & bushings that attach the handles for a smooth and uniform rotation.  Our rolling pins are intricately detailed with deep laser engravings for the best texture possible for your baking, pottery or crafting needs.
